Hi, I’m whitney tiller.

I started my career in Infant Feeding as a Breastfeeding Peer Support Counselor in the UK’s NHS hospitals, where I developed a passion for assisting mothers and babies. I provided face to face support and education to new mothers in postpartum wards.

In 2014, I trained as a Registered Midwife, delivering babies at the Royal Sussex County Hospital and supporting breastfeeding in the early weeks postpartum. In 2019, I became a Tongue Tie Practitioner, running clinics across two NHS hospitals and diagnosing and treating 400-500 infants annually for tethered oral tissue. This experience exposed me to increasingly complex feeding issues, motivating me to enhance my breastfeeding support skills.

In 2021, I became the Infant Feeding Specialist Midwife, training healthcare staff in breastfeeding support and contributing to my trust's UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative accreditation. I implemented projects such as skin-to-skin contact during scheduled C-sections to promote breastfeeding and established a specialist feeding support team to reduce newborn hospital readmissions. I completed my IBCLC certification in 2022 and began a private practice in England, alongside my NHS work.

After relocating to the Pacific Northwest in 2023, I now work as an online telehealth lactation consultant for NEST Collaborative, offering breastfeeding support to mothers across the USA. I am excited to bring my global experience back to face-to-face consultations, just as I did over 11 years ago.

I am passionate about applying evidence based solutions to breastfeeding support. I am a bit of a nerd and my years of experience and knowledge can benefit you and guide you to find solutions in order to help you to reach your feeding goals. I am not pro breast, or pro bottle…..I am pro parent! I will always provide judgment free support no matter what your feeding journey entails.

My Approach

Inclusive care

I am well versed, and experienced in supporting LGBTQIA+ communities, as well as all different orientations, identities, nationalities, lifestyles and birth ethos.

Bespoke care

I will always provide the best care that I can based on your individual needs, whether that be with preferred pronouns or terminology around your body and choices. I am also trained in supporting neurodivergence to provide real solutions that work specifically for you.

Hands Free Approach

I respect personal space and boundaries and will never touch you or your baby without explicit consent. I have seen first hand the damage a rough hand can do, especially in cases with previous trauma or abuse.

Testimonials:

“My eldest child was tongue tied and my feeding journey got off to a tricky start. Whitney’s support was invaluable. She was so supportive, kind, knowledgeable and non judgemental. She was also there for me with my second, and helped us breastfeed moments after birth (and for the following 15 months). I’m expecting my third and will certainly be calling on Whitney again”

“No words can express how valuable Whitney’s advice was to us when most needed! Her unrushed, gentle and partner inclusive approach made me feel calm and empowered. Thank you Whitney for supporting me to have an amazing (still on going) breastfeeding experience! You are gold!!”

“Where do I begin…Whitney is a wonder! Her support throughout my pregnancy with antenatal expression and after our daughter was born with pumping and breastfeeding saw our premature baby exclusively breastfed. Her dedication to research and support for our unique journey was completely invaluable”

“Whitney, we can't thank you enough for all of your support and saving our feeding journey. When I contacted you about my 9 week old baby son, I was at my wit's end. I thought we were dealing with a bottle aversion as he wouldn't take a bottle, I couldn't breastfeed and I had already tried lots of different feeding positions, 4 different bottles, a GP who said it was just silent reflux and a handful of different healthcare professionals who told me he didn't have a tongue tie. I'm so glad I found you, as soon as I spoke to you on the phone, you instantly made me feel at ease. Your professionalism, support and guidance to establish a CMPA (cow's milk protein allergy) and a posterior tongue tie was exactly what we needed when I felt like no one was listening. I would fully recommend anyone to approach you to investigate their precious baby's feeding issues, as honestly you've changed Phoenix's quality of life, and helped him enjoy his favorite thing to do, feed! And helped a very tired, frustrated and upset Mumma who just wanted to be able to feed her baby! Also your fast turnaround just made me feel like someone else was as worried as I was. My midwife in my pocket, thank you!

“Whitney is an absolute star. My baby Edwin and I got off to a tricky start with breastfeeding as he was tongue tied and had a very shallow latch. This made my breasts engorged, feeding more difficult for Edwin and painful for me, during which he struggled to regain his birth weight. Whitney was wonderful during the snip procedure and for many days after, providing support once I was home from hospital with his latch and feeding plan. She always explained things so well and was so kind and patient with my many many questions. She provided support during a difficult time which I will not forget and is truly impressive and passionate with the work that she does. I could not recommend her enough.
